Sorry for the lack of posts recently if you have been following. I have been quite busy with my life. Just wanted to upload my most recent wallpaper for you all, in every color of the rainbow as well as a PSD to change the color to whatever you want. It’s a fabric pattern that you find in a lot of the iOS GUI. Enjoy!

So, I decided it’s high time to get some new business cards. I’m not entirely sure how it’ll look yet, but the one thing I do know is I want a letterpress logo on there. That inset look is so appealing to me. So keeping with that, I decided to look around for some inspiration and came across a post from Pixel Curse showcasing 100 different letterpress business cards. Back in May Lifehacker wrote a post showing off my desktop. Since then I have been getting a surprising amount of requests for tutorials on how to replicate what I did and even more requesting the wallpaper I made which is featured in that image. One even came in this morning. So I figured I guess it’s about time to give the sucker away…and because you have all been so patient during the course of my extreme laziness, I have also included another wallpaper I did with it as well as a PSD to make your own!

So I hope you enjoy. And look out in the future for more wallpaper packs like this!

The fontbook app for the iPad is (according to the creators from fontshop) “The world’s most comprehensive typographic reference tool”…and I’ll be damned if I argue their point. Like they say on their website…if typography were a religion this would be the bible. This thing is PACKED with over 620,000 typeface specimens, from 110 type foundries. Just surfing through this thing is inspiration on it’s own, but on top of all of that…this is how an app should be built! It’s a solid, speedy performance the whole way through…with a fresh UI that works really well. At $5.99 it’s a steal for anyone who is event slightly interested in type.

Those who know me well know that I hold pink and purple in very high regard, especially when it comes to design. Set hot pink against black and white and you will see how visually striking it can really be. I’m getting married soon. In like 9 months. Being a designer when you get married comes with certain added responsibility that normally would be left to an outside contract. Last night my fiance asked me to design the stickers that will go on the favors at the reception. To be completely honest I feel like most guys would shudder at the experience of “having” to be involved with the wedding planning…but I kinda dig it. Being able to put my own little creative touches on what promises to be one of the biggest (and most expensive) days of my entire life makes the experience that much more gratifying…so needless to say I was pretty psyched when she asked me to do it.

I came across this today looking for inspiration on what to do for these stickers. Just some clever, sleek logo design that really caught my attention. Here are just a few of my favorites. For the entire list of 100 check out GraphicDesignJunction.com

Welcome! Few things to notice:

The biggest change you’ll notice is the new grid layout. Being a fluid layout, the content will automatically adjust to your resolution. (Resize your browser window and check it out!)
If you look at the bottom right corner of your screen you’ll see a + symbol. Click that and it will expand an overlay at the bottom showing some fun things like my twitter stream, flickr and instagram photos.
All previous blog entries are gone. Technically I was not able to bring them back over because I did a complete re-install of my CMS which meant deleting and re-creating my databases.
The portfolio is now split up into categories. Art (where my digital stuff will be posted, such as all the content you have previously seen from years past) Photography (which is pretty self explanatory). I’m also working on a professional section which is where I’ll be posting some of my favorites from different clients I have worked with.
Finally a store. It’s coming. Soon. I’m working on pricing structures to see how it works best to both benefit myself as well as the consumer. However when it does eventually launch, I will be selling prints of my work and clothing if there is a demand for it
